The department consists of a manager, two network administrators, a programmer/analyst and a web administrator. It is the manager's responsibility to coordinate, supervise, and manage the IS support efforts for all departments of the municipality. As an integral member of the Town's management team, he provides technical planning, budgeting, and direction on all aspects of technology, communication and security issues. The manager reports to the Town Manager.

The manager of the department directly oversees the network infrastructure which consists of Cisco switches and routers interconnected via a Gigabit backbone. He also manages the City Hall telephone PBX/VoIP and the various telephone systems in other buildings.

Network Administrators role is to maintain over 300 networked computers in nineteen different buildings. This includes set up, periodic upgrades, troubleshooting and virus upgrades. Other responsibilities include maintaining a comprehensive inventory of equipment, maintenance and organizing of shared files, hardware and software instruction for staff.
