Smyrna is the twelfth safest city in Tennessee according to backgroundchecks.org.
The list was compiled based on FBI violent crime stats and proprietary backgroundchecks.org research data. Rates are normalized per 100,000 residents with the state average being 608 for violent crime and 3,061 for property crime. This is calculated by taking (# of crimes/population) * 100,000.
Smyrna Natural Gas will soon be conducting its annual telephone survey to assess the awareness and understanding of those who live along our gas pipeline concerning safety and the safe use of gas. We will begin placing those calls on March 29, 2016.
